Can't turn steering wheel
Parked my 93' LS400 with wheels turned towrd curb. Took key out ok. When went to start car, could not turn key to start engine. Steering wheel telescopes out ok but will not turn. Could not move shift selector. Has anyone seen a similar problem??? Thank you.

Already tried. Rocked steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn ignition key. Nothing moved. Also took out shift lock located to left of park to no avail.

Bingo! Thank you MeanLex. I pulled each way on the steering wheel while gently jiggling the ignition key and it worked. Really appreciate your input.

Lead Lap
My 90 LS occasionally had the same problem when the brake pedal stop light switch began to fail. If I stomped on the brake pedal and played around with the ignition switch, I could usually get the steering wheel to rotate, start the car and drive away.
Replacing the brake stop light switch solved the problem on my car.
