I've got the same problem. You can try carstereohelp.com website. They give $190 estimate to fix that problem. When I asked dealership they gave me $2000 quote because they were going to replace entire unit...

THE DISPLAY IS EASILY FIXED FOR 100.00 IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF. THAT INCLUDES THE DISPLAY AND THE SERVICE MANUAL WHICH SHOWS HOW TO REMOVE THE FACEPLATE. ONLY 2 SCREWS ON THE FACEPLATE AND 2 SCREWS HOLDING THE LCD. ALSO LCD CONNCTOR EASILY UNPLUGS FROM THE CIRCUIT BOARD. . NO RIBBON CABLE TO DEAL WITH LIKE FIRST GENERATION LEXUS RADIOS. EMAIL PIONEERSUBY@WOH.RR.COM FOR MORE DETAILS.

I called the dealership to ask them wha they do not try to replace the LCD instead of the entire radio, the service dude did not have a clue what i was talking about. He was like what ! I did not know you could do that.

I guess Job Security and the owner needs to make his huge profit margin at the expence of lexus drivers.

Too bad

I just want to update this, so I bought my LCD screen from above vendor $145 shipped. And intalled it this weekend, it took me bout 1 hours and it was super easy, now my burn out radio is perfect again new like when it came from factory. If you fare on the fence bout this do it guys, it's worth it. Let me know if you need help or instruction on how to remove.
