Default 1UZ Coolant Level

I am having a minor issue with my motor. Its always been fine, except yesterday the low coolant light came on. This morning I checked, it was about an inch below the line on the reservoir.

The car NEVER overheats, even in 100+ weather with the AC on. There is NO condition in which I can make it overheat and the oil shows no sign of coolant mixture indicating a blown head gasket. I don't see anything leaking on the ground either.

The light went off, but the coolant is still slightly below normal when cold. After the motor warms up, the level will rise to normal.

I bought a gallon of the Toyota RED coolant and some distilled water. Can I just add some more, or should it be investigated?

Hello,

might check the reservoir cap. I just had a broken one, symtom was a light decreasing cooling level.
