Question Please Help: Steering Wheel Tilt Problem

Tilt is stuck on the highest position and makes a grinding noise, do i need a gear for this problem?,if so where can i get this part?

understood they told me the motor assy. is 385.00 and install was another 500.00 or so.wanted advice on self repair.

We have a search function here at CL so members can find old threads regarding fixes just like this. I queried "tilt steering repair"

BTW, this was done on a SC, should be simiar or the same for your vehicle.

dont buy anything yet take out the lower portion of the steering wheel where the your tilt button is and re grease and put the gear back into its position i had the same problem, what happen with mine was that i tilted it down while my knee was under it and the gear fell out of place so just put the gear back in position and u will be ok
