Leaving the golf course yesterday a guy in a new turbodiesel Ford truck was just pulling away from the space next to my car, he turns around and pulls up to talk.

He said, "that's a Lexus right?, Toyota makes them right?, what is the comparable Toyota model?"

I said, "Toyota doesn't offer a version, its rear drive with a V8, 260 horsepower (truck talk) ... the ES300 is based on the Camry and has a front drive V6".

He said..."Ohhhh... man that is a nice looking car".

I said "thanks, it's a 96". His eyes got wide and with a surprised look said "really... I thought it was a NEW car!".

We sometimes forget that MOST of the world doesn't realize how GOOD we've got it

The Training Station on Crab River Road. Just finished a MISERABLE 9 holes and the exchange cheered me back up

You a golfer Lou? Been to Bally's lately? Give me a call, I may go train tonight.

I get all kinds of compliments on mine. One guy stopped me the other day at the gas station right after the hand wash place I use had cleaned it all up, the same exchange took place pretty much.

Always nice isnt it?

Yeah i get the same talk around here too.

When i park my car at work, the customers would come in and say who Lexus is that. This one other time some constructions dudes ran up to me when i was in my LS said man your ride looks great.Another time i was washing my car in front of my house and these fellows said dam that **** looks tight! Our newest employee that got hired, she asked who Lex is that its gorgeus how come i always see it, then said that's mine.Lots of comps at school too.

I have not gotten any negatives so far, even though my exhausts might be a little to big for the LS.

Yeah, had a girl at the Taco Bell drive through say "wow, that's a nice car.... what is it?" I say "thanks...a Lexus".... she says "Ohhhhh... I knew that" Sure you did baby!

NOTE: sometimes you get hungry and you gotta eat fast I guess they don't get many Lexus at the drive-thru

Yeah, I get strange compliments sometimes also.
I'm in a local import club and met some of the members for the first time.
They were like what is that, it is pretty nice and big!
I tell them it is a Lexus and thanks.
They ask me what is under the hood and I tell them a V8, and that is when they really get confused!
They wouldn't believe me and think their stock hondas can beat me until I raise the hood and then all I see is guys trippin out at what they see, a actual V8 in a Japanese car.
