Default LS400 intake problem

I just changed the air filter in my car to an air filter cone with adapter, etc. But since the change, my car is showing hesitation when i shift. It keeps kicking back and it's annoying me. When I changed the filter, the plug that connects to the silver electronic filter piece, the car doesn't start. When I disconnect it, it does work. And now my check engine light is on because I disconnected the plug. Does anyone know what I can do or what the problem might be? Anything would help. Thanks guys!

Reconnect the wire and then remove the fuses to the EFI pooter for 30 seconds or so. This will default back to factory settings. If the CEL is still on after this, remove the fuses to the main ECU for a minute.

the CEL will go away shortly, just make all the connctions are tight, and the box and screws are secured.
