Default Upgrade headlights from 2nd to 3rd gen?

Is it possible? I have a 96 LS400, which is wonderful, but I really love the lights on the next-later model just after that.

Damn I was hoping it was just a headlight upgrade, and maybe a bit of kit change as well. I've not compared them up close I guess.

I think the classic look of the Gen 2 headlights is visually better than the neo-partially-cut-off lense patterns of the Gen 3 that have become the norm in most newer cars. Albeit, the Gen 3 lights will perform better, especially with HID. Put a Gen 2 and Gen 3 side-by-side. I think the Gen 2 looks better.

i have a '95 and considered this for a while but its not really feasible unless u manage to find a 3rd gen car totalled with the front end in perfect condition.

to do the swap u need the:
-Headlights
-front bumper
-front fenders
-hood
-grill
-random wiring+misc clips

making it all VERY expensive.

There are a few companies in Japan that make a fibreglass panel conversion kit.

I think the companies are Gaultier and Custom City.

Do a search to check it out
