Question PSI on bigger wheels

Hi All,

my Ride: 93 LS 400

my question is how much PSI(air pressure) in tire are we suppose to have?? I know for oem 16 tires it is stated in the manual about 32 PSI......but for bigger wheels how much is req? I just upgraded my wheels to 2004 sc430 wheels with 245/40/18 falken tires and I am confused about the PSI on the tires it states max of 51 PSI........ so are suppose to follow oem recommended PSI or dose it change when you change the tire size?

No, the pressure should be the same. You can go up or down just a bit, but I wouldnt get close to the MAX setting.

I was in the same boat. I recently swapped out the OEM 16s for the OEM 18s (5spokes on the '04-'05 LS) on my '98 LS. Factory recommended air pressure on the 245/45/18 (stock tire size on the '04-'05 LS) is 33psi. I mounted the wheels on 235/50/18 and kept the tire pressure at 32psi all around. The overall ride comfort didn't change much at all. I'm definitely happy with the new shoes.

Do you have any pics? I'd like to see how other factory Lexus wheels look on older LS400s. Are they a direct swap?

Are any of these the style wheels you have?

The 18s mounted on perfectly. The wheels are none of the above pics you attached. I'll take pics tomorrow for sure, but I'll need someone to put them up for me.

Those are the ones. I have the gold-trim "L" on the center caps though.

I can post them for you if you want or you can do what I do.

Go to the following site:

http://www.imageshack.us

Let's say that the picture you want to host is on your desktop.
You click on "Browse" to select the picture from your desktop.
Then look for the url of the pic....you want to look at the one that says "Direct link to image". For example, http://img45.echo.cx/img45/4393/fil64802ko.jpg
Copy it and then paste in the body of your post.
Last step is to put the url that you just copied and pasted in between these 2 commands - [img] [/img].
So it will look like this -
