Default Painting bottom cladding black and black grill.

Just putting a little feeler out there for concensus, and to see if anyone has pics. I need to get my bumper repainted, becuase it was poorly repainted before I bought it and the paint is peeling. So I was thinking of going all the way getting the two-tone grey painted black to match the rest of my car.

As well, I was thinking of having the center part of the grill painted black - everything except for the emblem and chrome around the outside.

All this, combined with smoke tint and possibly lowering I was thinking would look pretty bad-***. The thing would be I will be running stock rims. Can't justify those right now and haven't found the right ones anyway. Thoughts? Pics?

Thanks,

Brian

I think it looks nicer. I painted the grill on mine black a spell back...adds a subtle contrast for my color combo.

Hi,

I got the bumpers and panels painted all black 3 years ago. I like it much more than the grey bumpers. The car looks newer and cleaner.

You know on black I actually prefer the two tone. On my goldish color, I'm not as much a fan.

Brian, did you see the blowout deal Steve G is having on Lsportline stuff for the LS? If you're going to be repainting anyway... might as well spend the $200 to get the aftermarket kit on there

1 set left! I know I bought one, not sure who else did.

You know I thought about but decided not to. I wasn't crazy about the lsportline rear bumper (plus I wasn't getting exhaust), and the front wouldn't really fit in with a stock rest of car. My style is more muted. I actually like the stock bumpers. The LS carries itself well; I just think the car needs to be lowered, needs rims, and maybe some dark tint (for my black car), and it would be set.

Thanks,

Brian

I'm gonna think about this. I guess it depends on how low I can get the paint guy to go. And I need to figure in all the other money I'm spending on routine maintanence this summer ( plus, car died today ). Timing belt's getting done on Monday. Winter tires swapped on Thursday. And maybe lowered, and maybe replacing the grandpa brown tint.

Just as a suggestion, I would use a gator back drive belt instead of the stock Toyota one, I never thought it would say this, but in my case, it was much quieter, even though the stock belt was only 10K old. Not to mention, the gator back is $60 bucs less.

I'm replacing the timing belt, not the drive belt. Though I did read about that post. My belt is new too and the thing makes a little noise. If it's easy enough for me to replace, I may try it out some time.

Thanks,

Brian

I think they give the LS a serious presents, good choice.

Edit: As long as they are 19's or 20's.
