Got a question for all who have the LS400 95-2000 models. What parts would you recommend replacing on a 95 with 93k miles on it? I'm wanting to bring her back to the glory days of super smooooooth operation. I have done the following:
1) 90k mile service from dealer "timing belt too"
2) trans and motor mounts replaced
3) stabalizer bar bushings front and back
4) differential bushing replaced as well
5) upgraded ecm unit replaced "fixed throttle shock"

I'm thinking about replacing the front door weather strips
Going to replace control arm bushings with Vlamos when Andrew has 2nd generation ready to ship.

The car has no problems what so ever. It was serviced at the dealership from the previous owner on a regular basis. The only thing that concerns me is at 80 mph, the engine really hummms into the cabin. I'm thinking it's the motor mounts, they've become too hard over the years and aren't able to cushion the noise anymore.

Any other suggestions that you guys might think I should have replaced to prolong the life of this beauty? These cars are incrediable! I never want to replace mine, unless of course with a newer one, but that's many many many years down the road.

Wait...didn't you say you replaced the motor and trans mounts already?

 

Opps, I'm replacing them soon. I just ordered the whole nine yards and are on the way. I'm also replacing the stabalizer bar bushings for front and back.....Any idea what causes a 95 ls to shift hard? had the fluids flushed at dealer with 90k service 6 months ago. it's always shifted hard, but getting harder, like it's slapping into gear. I read somewhere about the throatle cable being too tight, but I can't find the thread anymore...any ideas?

 

Can you post the part number for the differential bushings?
