I'm having some trouble getting the plastic cover off for t he high mount stop light. In one previous thread, it was recommended that you should push two clips with a screwdriver and the cover will pop off. This sounds reasonable, but when I tried it it really didn't work. Does anyone have any experience doing this with a 98 LS 400? Thanks

 

I'm glad I dont have to worry about mine (THEY WERE A SERIOUS PAIN IN THE REAR IN MY OLD MARK VIII).... Never even looked into it in the LS.

 

That's right. Pry the plastic cover firmly upward. First try the area closer to the passenger side, then move back toward the rear glass. Then try the other side. Pry firmly, don't worry it will not break. Use a Large screwdriver. It will be flatter and it will provide more leverage.
