anyone need to stop the smoking on start up?

I have smoke problem at startup. The problem is much worse if I use regular oil and a lot less with synthetic oil.
Could you tell me where that idleup valve is? I can't even find it in the manual.
Thanks,

I talked to my local Lexus dealer and they don't know anything about this valve. I told them what I've read on this forum and they wonder if American version of Lexus is different from the Canadian one.
As long as I understand, a faulty idle up valve causes steering fluid leaking to the combustion chamber and it makes smoke at start up. Is that correct?
My smoking problem only occurs after the car sitting for several hours (overnight and afterwork).

The Toyota-Lexus name for this part is the air control valve. It screws into the bottom of the power steering pump. It has two hoses which run from the valve to (1) the air intake system just downstream from the air filter and (2) the front of the intake manifold. When the valve fails, power steering fluid is drawn into one or both of these hoses and makes a cloud of white smoke when the engine is cranked.
Anyone suspecting that this valve is faulty should check their power steering fluid level often.
This is a very common problem on first generation LS models.
