You are experiencing one of the only truely frustrating things about my LS400. (For those who like a visual, it is a black on black '95 LS400 coach edition with nakamichi etc... and chromed factory wheels.) On mine, the wheel does not always telescope completely. About 1/4 of the time it only comes down about half way. The dealer makes you feel stupid by telling you it worked fine for them... I had the sensor replaced about 2 years ago and it was better , but not 100%. I think that was about $80.00. It is getting worse now. Another member once said there was a service bullitin published about this and it was about a tight wire harness pulling on the contacts. The dealer denied this. :-( The car is flawless other than that, even with 142.000 miles on it. People think it is new.... Not sure if I helped, or added gasoline. Good luck and congrats on the new LS!
