Default New LS400

I just got a 1998 LS400 with 57,000 miles (my dads). Here are some pics

I'm just alittle worried because I will have it at school in Cleveland, where it snows alot in the winters. Also it will be parked outdoors and in a garage (no door), in a area that is pretty safe, but could be better.

Question

Congrats on the '98 and welcome to the board...looks beautiful, but you might want to consider removing that gold pinstripe.

BTW, Hey Eric and Jacky, are you guys goin' to the BBQ this Sunday???

Congrats on the car. For some reason, I think that reflection off the hood looks killer.

Oh man...'nuff said, but that was mighty ballsy of ya. Good luck in the doghouse...hopefully you won enough loot to make up for everything.

(back on topic )

Welcome and congrats on the new car! I drove my 98 LS in quite a bit of snow this year and it did great. Just packed the trunk full of heavy stuff (fertilizer bags, jacks, etc) and kept a full tank of gas and pressed the snow button. Might consider getting snow tires in your area vs all season I had.

Congrats on the 98!

Now you just need two more Lexus's to go in that three car garage.

Thanks!

Anyone know the cost of removing the stripes? Is it something I can do myself?

If you have a steady hand, it can be done with a razor. There might be another, safer way of doing this. But if you're careful, you won't scratch the paint. I'm not sure if the Lexus stripe is painted on or not, but I've seen this done with other cars and it worked. And yes, that car would look much cleaner IMO without the stripe.
