How do you get one of those NAV screen with the CC?

 

I believe that's an option.

 

i dont think Nav was an option for 1st gen LS

 

It was. In Japan.
Also power rear seats were available.

In Japan they got everything about more than 5yrs ahead of us.

 

You think the difference between Japan and US is bad, the difference between US and UK is worse. On the 1st gen LS here in the UK, they left out the following features, not even offering them as options.
airbags
air suspension
Nakimichi sound system
heated seats

I like the owner's manual in the UK(which covers LHD and RHD versions) which tells you how to use the heated seats and air suspension etc, when you don't have it!

Middle East spec seems to be massive, all the 1st gen cars I have seen there have heated front and rear seats, rear cupholders, rear controls for audio system. I wonder why there is no universal spec around the world for Lexus?

 

There are way more controls in the back seat than a current LS430 ultra

this is my first post here on this forum i hope i would make a good relation with the people here

just wanted to say that while the middle east spec celsiors (they are called lexus here too ,but i just dont like this name) were decked with almost every option, they didnt get any form of a screen (crt or lcd) till 2004.

also they are only available in "full option" trim only, meaning if you dont want leather seats or anything like that then you'd better get an import.
