Default Tire Suggestions

I am lookinf for a new set of tires for my 95 LS-400. Tire-rack users seem to gush about the Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z. Does anybody have any experience with these tires. I am looking for quiet performance. What say all of you?

Greetings-A year and a half ago I replaced my tires which were Dunlop SP 4000 - the previous owner had put on for improved handling. I replaced the tires (which were almost bald) with Bridgestone Turanza LS-T 225/60-16. The are much quieter than the previous tires, handle just as well in my opinion and ride very well. Not sure if the LS-Z have a different patteren, but suspect they do. Hope this helps

Thanks Goldhammer. I have heard only good things about the Bridgestone Turanzas. The LS-Z tires are simply rated for a higher speed (over 149). Not that I will go there, but the tires are supposed to offer a very quiet ride and have excellent traction on the wet stuff. I ordered a set from the tire rack and I am going to get them put on tomorrow.

Great! Let me know how the ride and handle. Also what do you have on there now? Are you sticking with the factory size or upsizing?
take care

Default Tires

Based on info found at this forum I bought 4 Kumho Ecsta HP4 716's from the TireRack in stock size for my 94LS.

Great tire , especially for the price. At Hwy speeds it is at least the equivalent in quietness to the Turanzas
on my Dads 90 LS or the Yokohamas on my Mothers 96 LS.

It is not a max performance handling tire ( nor to they claim it to be!) just a great all around tire. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

Damon,

I have the same tire and pretty much the same opinion. I have been very impressed with the wet and dry traction too.

Default Kumho Ecsta ASX

Just noticed that there is a new tire available from Kumho that appears would be an excellent choice for the LS 400.

It is the Ecsta ASX:

good luck! damon

Caution However, closest to stock size I see is 225/55/R16

This would yield 26 more revolutions per mile. Speedometer would read 62.1 at a true 60 mph.
