Default Navigation screen fix?

Hi everyone, I just imported a 1995 Celsior and it is in more or less perfect condition... except for the navigation screen. The touch screen still works and the edges of the screen are visible, but a solid 75% of the screen is unreadable. What would be the best way to go about fixing this in 2026? I know the easy answer is to throw in a CarPlay unit, but I would like to avoid that if possible, as this isn't a daily driver and I value originality over CarPlay.

Your problem looks like the worn polarizing films due to the age. This problem is quite common among aged LCD panels.

Changing those films will mostly fix the problem as is explained and done
but it needs some skills as well as new films available at vendors such as
Amazon Amazon
and others. The most simple way is to find a good working LCD unit and change it but I don't know the availability of the unit.

Thank you for the response. I'll look into this further and update the thread if this solves it.
