Default Ecu

Hello ive been here before i just forgot my login shi but i have someone interested in my ecu and its from a 98 car and the dudes car is a 2000s is it gonna interfere i have the keys and ignition cylinder im gonna give him as well but does the vsc need to be vin matched aswell

As is listed below, there are 14 different ECUs. An ECU for a 98 is not fully compatible with a 00 but the engine runs as long as the immobilizer data is matched to the car. The matching needs to rewrite the immobilizer data stored in the EEPROM. Some people just swap the chip using a heat gun.

appreciate the information I sent it to the dude I sold it to. I’m back on my other account so if you see two different usernames, but the same people and hopefully he can get his car back up and run and he sent his original ECU to get the immobilizer chip deleted and I think that’s what causes issues in the first place so I don’t know if he can do a direct swap. it was some place called quantum or that’s just the name.
