Default oil leak under left cilinderhead?

Hey guys,

I have an oil leak that starts to become annoying. I've done some cleaning and investigating yet haven't been able to pinpoint.

The left head, underneath the front corner is greasy. Incredibly hard spot to reach for cleaning. It seems wet above the manifold. From there it seems to drip down.

The front corner has been cleaned, timingbelt cover has been removed, it had made it to the seal making me thing it came from there somewhere but it doesn't.

Anyone here experienced a similar leak and know what's there what it could be?

appreciated!

kevin

What year car? How many miles? Timing belit and cam seals changed? Valve covers leaking? Spark plug seals done?

99, 250k km

timing belt done, not the seals, but its not coming from there.
valve cover seals replaced when I did the belt also.

btw, if its a plug seal it's pretty obvious and on top. Not at the hidden area underneath the head

That is also on the top, not underneath?

Is it at the mating of the head and the block, or further down? If it's below the head and close to the front of the block, it might be the figure 8 shaped o-ring at the oil filter housing/block junction leaking. If it's higher up it might be the sealing around the cam covers. Here's a video of the whole vvti cam seal job, there's a section at around 5:55 that might be what you're looking for.

A pic, even if it’s just something pointing to the general area, would be a huge help here.

Can't argue that.

Was waiting for a customer so threw it on the lift real quick.

So, this corner was all wet. Taken of the timing cover for a look and cleaned that area. Seems to not come back there. Must say that I did tightened the valve cover so that might have been part of the issue

Underneath here I am unable to clean but I can't say its really wet.

This is underneath, I cleaned this as well when I was there and here it is wet this time again.

Not dripped down on the floor after one night though
