Hello to anyone that sees this, this is my first time posting. I have a 2000 ls400 and air intake resonator has a crack in it and I was looking to replace it. I was checking my options of oem or cold air (Godzilla raceworks) and noticed that on the back side of the air intake resonator I found it had a connector but when I searched for what it was for I didn't find much, I looked at systems for sale and never saw one with the connector, so my question is 1. Has anyone seen this before 2. does anyone know what it does. I also contacted Godzilla Raceworks and was informed that on their development vehicles there was no connector there. Any information is appreciated. Thankyou.
in total there's 3 connections for hoses, the biggest one (center of the pic) attaches to the PCV hose
the other 2 are just for various breather/bleeder reasons, but truthfully i don't think any are crucial for reliable operation since just about every one of these has at least one of those plastic extrusions cracked
Yes that is the part that I was talking about but the only difference is and what I should have been more specific about is it's not a line connection but is an electrical connector(not Maf)
At least that's what I remember its been a couple of weeks at this point I will have the opportunity to look at it again later today and will update with whether or not I was a big ol dummy or with a picture if it is a connector.

Nevermind I found it, part# 1226250020

well i missed your first post but glad you found it haha
years ago when i was doing my undergrad up at UMass i ordered that exact part through the lexus dealer near springfield, they said i was the first person ever to order that part with them lmao... they also had an LFA in the showroom so def worth the trip!
Man that LFA. What an otherwise phenomenal car, blank check engineering exercise, which totally inhibited by that dogshit single clutch automatic gearbox. They'd be worth double if it had a dual clutch (like ferrari was doing at the time, it existed), or triple with a proper manual. And both would be so much more enjoyable to use.
But instead you have:
brraaaaaa
pause
braaaaaaaaaaaaaa
smoke break
braaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

i agree it's definitely a limitation, however you're exaggerating the slowness a bit haha... it's probably annoying in just regular traffic but at WOT it's just as quick as someone who's really good at driving stick, also i think the auditory experience is improved by having that half second delay otherwise it all just sounds too digital and undramatic
I still disagree. At fully throttle it's a pretty big delay, and then at partial throttle shifting? Way, way worse. And same for shifting mid-corner, it just upsets the balance of the car by bucking the whole powertrain with a shift. In a manual when you're shifting it yourself that's fine, but I dunno in an automatic it makes it feel broken to me. Especially compared to a buttery smooth dual clutch.
I think it takes away from the experience. Manual F1 cars or race cars can shift incredibly fast, so much faster than these single clutch boxes. I'm really not a fan of them. I had a very short spin in one many years ago and it confirmed all of my biases. It just feels like someone who can't drive manual properly most of the time, it really takes away from the experience.

my first automated manual experience was in a ferrari 360 and yea definitely not very nice to use, yes it feels like a novice trying to drive manual lol
but that's the problem with the LFA, it was basically ready to go on sale in like 2005 before they started work all over again with a carbon fiber body... typical toyota already being outdated at launch
It was finished as early as 05? I thought the first stage of development was much later on after that. Interesting. The 458 wasn't around until 2011 at that rate. Hmm. Maybe there isn't as much xover as I thought.
