Hey CL, I know this is really last minute, but a friend of mine is holding an event in Elmhurst for car enthusiast's. He's calling it Motors in the Morning, coffee and breakfast at Nu Crepes in Elmhurst. The place is kind of hard to find, it's located at the corner of York Rd and Schiller (right downtown Elmhurst), there is a little alley right at the intersection that goes West, you can't drive on it, but park near by and then walk up the alley, Nu Crepes is in the alley on the right side.

My friend who's putting the event together owns LAPS INC, which operates out of The Autobahn road race track. It's this Sunday (May 4th) from 8 to 11am.

Sorry to take this off track, but there is a detailer who also operates out of The Autobahn. It's Boba's Detailing. Do you happen to know anything about him or his shop? Tks.

 

No worries, so I reached out to my friend from LAPS INC, he knows the guy but hasn't personally had any work done with him. He did say he does a lot of business though. Are you looking for a detailer?

I'm looking myself, I have a friend who does detailing, but he started his own road racing shop and hasn't had time to do any. He's the best I've ever seen. Paint looks and feels like glass after he's done. I'm trying to get him to start doing it again.

 

Thanks for the info. I'm not looking for a detailer right now, but came across Boba's a couple of months ago while searching for shops in the area.

I found a new shop in New Lenox which is co-owned by Ivan from Lustr Detailing in Elk Grove Village. There are a couple of others around but I don't know anything about them.

 

Cool, sorry I couldn't be much help. I've heard good things about the place in Elk Grove, albeit all the good news came from people on here that I don't know, but then again, I was recommended a tint guy from CL as well and he turned out to be fantastic. I may give them a shot if I can't talk my friend into doing mine.. LOL - I think I'm close to getting him on the hook..

We ate at Nu Crepes in Elmhurst, first time there - I highly recommend it!!

 

FYI - They're having another "Motors in the morning" event in Elmhurst... June 1st 8-11am at Nu Crepes restaurant...

There is a parking lot behind Pizza Palace off of Addison St, downtown Elmhurst. You can get into the back lot off of First Street, or Addison. (South of First St, East of Addison and West of York Rd.)
