Default 4300k vs 6000k

how would you guys out there compare these 2 lights. sure the 6000k makes the 4300k look yellow. but i mean how is the light put reduced compared to 4300k?? how well is the ground lit with 6000k. i know for a fact that the "blue" light the 6000k give off seems more bright but it just doesn't reflect off the ground as good. anyone that has done the 6000k regret it?

seriously, by theory it's less light output but in reality it's just as bright, if not brighter. i have no problem seeing anything at night at all. and i think 6000k looks so much better

For an example .. here's a picture that rominl took of his car and Synergy's car. Synergy has stock 4100's and rominl has 6000k of course.

Also, note that in the picture it looks as if the 4100k's are spread more evenly because Synergy's housing is made for HID's -- but I'm pretty sure you know that already

I'm with ROM 100%, I yanked my 4300's out and purchased the Philips 6K bulbs soon after I was ROM's car. They look soo much better than stock!! DO IT!

Ok, but what about the glare from head on??? Got any comparison pics?? I've seen some cars around town lately that have "blueish" hids. One or two of them seemed like they had excessive glare when I went by. Is this inherent in the color temp, or in the way they weren't mounted/installed??

you get the bulbs or $250 or whatever, and what else do you need? new ballasts or no?

cause i remember a slightly(but not so slight) higher cost for a full set of 6000ks

I just installed 6000K HID's in my fogs and I have to say that the 'cool' factor of this mod is very high, however the light is more blue than the stock 4100K HID's in the low beams. They definitely don't light up the road as much as the 4100K HID's in the low beams, however since they are not too blue, they are still a somewhat useful 'functional' mod.

Here are some pics of before and after the upgrade to the HID's in the fogs (the titles of the pics indicate the before and after pics):

The pics in the daylight are a better representation of how the colors of the lights really look. The night time shots aren't that great.

Would I do this mod again if I had to do it over? Not so sure. Mainly because of the expense I incurred. The HID kit cost $420 and the install was a bi##h and cost me over $200.00 - is the mod worth $600.00? I am sure many members here will say no. I am not so sure either.

However having spent the money now, I am happy with it, but would not do it again if I had to.

I've thought about popping in some 6k also (I have OEM HIDs), but am concerned about looking too blue / ricey / cheap. They do not?

Maybe I just need some final nudging

BTW H, those look GREAT!

seriously it varies from person to person. some people think it's too blue, but to me i think stock hid is too yellow. but one thing for sure, you look at 6000k hid and you do NOT think it's rice, it's far from those stupid kids with those crappy superwhite BLUE bulbs
