Any way to brighten up reverse lights?
We decided on a beautiful '03 GS430 back in January, ane everything about the car is perfect. Only complaint so far is the reverse lights. They are tiny!! They hardly produce enough light to see while backing up. We live on a dark street, with lots of trees, and it's almost impossible to see out the rear of the vehicle. There are 2 trees very close to the side of our driveway and both have had their fair share or cars backed into them.
I've considered reverting back to the older style GS taillights, but didn't really want to put older parts on. Is there anything we can do to remedy this?
I may just have to wire up some PIAAs under the bumper!!

yeah, the old style definitely shines brighter than the new, and since I'm feeling generous, I'll give you my superior old style lens for your inferior new style lens, we wouldn't want you backing your new car into any trees now, do we ?
I have the same problem. I have a bridge over a creek in my driveway that I have to back over when turning. I have a very hard time seeing at night, and if it's raining, forget about it! I'm not familiar with the lights you guys are talking about. Could you be more specific as to what I can do to brighten the back-up lighting? Thanks for any help.

I put some M6 Polargs in last night to see what kind of difference it would make. Much cleaner look to it, but I might consider trying a higher wattage bulb to get it even brighter to compensate for the tint on the back glass. hmm, anyone done a nice rear view camera on a GS?
Here is the comparison (polarg left, stock right)
