Default i'm stumped

hey guys, have any of you tried to increase the amount of light in ur trunk? that little light that comes standard in the 92 ES bites. i bought a 10" neon tube light to add some more light to my trunk, but i have run into a dead end. the cord for the tube was originally hooked up to a cigarette lighter, but since there's no cigarette lighter in the trunk, i snipped it off and grouned the negative and hooked the positive to the power of the trunk light, the power wire is red right? well, the trunk light still works, but i'm gettin nothing out of the neon tube. i know it works because i tested it in the cigarette lighter before i snipped that off. was that a bad idea? i'm not sure, but i guess the only answer is that there's not enough power coming from the trunk light. any ideas? please help.

You need a power line w/ more current. Use the trunk light's power as a switch for a relay. Reply if you don't know how to do this.

i agree the light is an actual stupid over sight for lexus i also placed a neon in my trunk about 30 inches long i hooked it staright to the power supply of the trunk light assembly
if it doesn't work
try reversing the power supply wires
mine works fine no relay
there should still be enough power for the neon and the light bulb as well to be powered at the same time
i am pretty sure it is just a revers of the polarity for the wiring
also try just using both terminals for the light rather than grounding one

good luck tell me if i can help any more

sk, for the trunk light, is the power wire the red wire? and the green is the ground wire?

i can't check for a bit as i am rebuilding an engine beside my car in teh garage so i can't pull it out right now
but try it either way if one way doesn't work
reverse the wires it shouldn't cause a problem
