I have a question:

Can I replace my GS300 non-HID lamps & bulbs with stock HID lamps, bulbs and ballasts from a GS400/430?

yeah of course it can. in fact that's always the best way to upgrade for the best light pattern output, but then again, it costs a lot

Great. I can get everything used but without the automatic light leveler.

Will it work without it?

Thanks

Thank you for the info !

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the deal felt through, so I will be going with a brand new 9006 HID kit.

I hear that the Phillips ballasts and bulbs are the best.

Do you know a good place(s) to get such HID Kit?

Thanks for all your help !!

Default Nice write-up.

Rominl,
You broke it down very nicely.
I really like the write-up, you put
all the technical stuff in normal
English. Thanks a lot, man.
Good job.

congrats man, it's summer time, it's mod time

about the bulbs, if you want to see the "blue" from outside in the high beam housing, all you need is to get some superwhite halogen bulbs (piaa, razo, any bulbs with the blue tint). it's going to give the housing the blue look. but then again, the DRL would still be kinda bluish/yellowish

Will putting HID bulbs in car that is normally halogen look like HID? Don't HID have auto levelers and ballasts to control the current?

Also, from my brief time surfing CL, I have read several references to 6000K bulbs. I'm assuming they are brighter bulbs (correct if I'm mistaken) I currently have HID on my GS400, can I just buy 6000k bulbs and replace the stock ones, or do I have to change the ballasts as I have read some people doing?

Thanks,
