Bottom line is that all HID kits, regardless of Kelvin rating are illegal. Same goes for OEM HID projector retrofits. The good news is that most luxury cars with NON-GLARING headlamps (adjusted properly) will not get pulled over for HIDs unless it is using some wacky 9000K bulb. And you do not need autoleveling for OEM HIDs...that is a requirement for foreign vehicles only. The only HID "upgrade" that is legal are those Sylvania Low-Beam upgrades (complete from hosing to xenon components) or switching to FACTORY HIDs (drop in replacements).
