Do real HID's ever fade or burn out quickly?

I have the 6k Phillips kit and I always drive with my HIDs on during the day as well.
How long do HID kits usually last hour wise? I mean these wont burn out within a year since I drive with them on all the time do you think?
Also, do HIDS fade colorwise after a few years, etc?

If I remember correctly, they should out last the car

they also become less bright and more yellow after a while. the bulb should last around or atelast 1000 hours

In reading online, about 2000 hours. I would just disconnect the daytime stuff but that is me.

It is like my gsxr1100 emissions. They are a thing of the past!
