Default flickering HID

i just got a 99 ls400 a couple weeks ago and my HID were working fine until yesterday morning, i was warming up my car for work and i notice my driver side HID was purple which was not normal and it started flickering, 2mins later it just dye. But every time i turn on the headlight the driver side would be on and then it starts flickers for 2mins and dye. Does that mean my bulb are going out?or is it wiring? Don't really know much about HID, so i figure the best place for sources would be here.

Switch your passenger side bulb with the driver's side. Easiest way to tell if it's the bulb or not.

bump this sorry guys but i didnt wanna make a new thread. my passenger side ignites but it turns purple then flickers and shuts off while my driver side ignites and stays on fine, looking 4300k. so i went and switch the bulbs around, the bad passenger side bulb still turns purple on the good driver side ballast, BUT when i use the good driver side bulb and connect it to the passenger side ballast, it wont even ignite the bulb. can someone help me with this? i hope its just the bulb issue, if it it ill get some ddm bulbs. thx in advance.
