Question LS430 vs Ls460 Retrofit for 2GS

i know everbody says ls430 have the best hids for retrofit on 2gs's, however what about the ls460's? Are they better or worst? I saw pics of an ls460 retrofit on a 2000 gs300 and i like it, but i want to have the best...so which are better?

and... are all years (2001+) of the ls 430 headlights the same?

01-03 LS430s were not projector housings, only 04-06.

LS430s are known for their wide output due to their shroud.

this picture will win you over .

no it doesnt since the cutoff (if retrofitted corrrectly) will be below the eye level..

I currently have LS460 projectors with clear lens n its really nice :]... just i havent retrofitted it yet

with the one in that pic, i don't think the other drivers next to him need to turn on their headlights there's enough light to go across the entire highway haha

LS430 projectors have better light output but the LS460 have cooler looking shrouds. I have LS430 projectors retro'd in my car and I can tell you when I drive on a 5 or 6-lane highway while I'm in the middle lane, it easily lights up all the other lanes and even the center divider and all the signs on the right.

i had ls430 projectors retrofitted in my car before and i agree that they are wider. I'm running ls460 with clear lens now and they have the reflector bowl located on the bottom of the projectors as well but the light output is reflected straight out instead of the side like the ls430. i later added a pair of FX in the high beam. pretty happy with the light output so far plus the ls460's look a lot better IMO

and with 460

I remember that set of photos of the LS430's and it still blows my mind every time I see them. I do love the look of the LS460's though, it depends on your priorities I guess.

njs, search the 2GS classifieds for a post by JNC selling his LS430 retro, I believe it's still for sale and his work is top notch.

That's cool, I wish I had the guts to do something like this myself. I am going to get a retro done hopefully some time this year. I will probably go with a double lowbeam bi xenon setup, LS430's and FX45's with clear lens combo. I think that would be pretty sweet. However I am considering using 460's instead of 430's but I haven't seen any shots like the one of the 430's on one of the post above that would pull me completely over to the460's.
