Hey everyone
A while ago I swapped all of my interior/exterior lights to LED's. The lights on the bottom of my mirrors and on the bottom of the doors are really bright, but the map light and lights above my doors are not bright at all. I bought mine from superbrightleds. Anyone else have this problem? I see all of these pics of the interior lights and they are bright as hell, which is what I was hoping for. Thanks for any input.
either something is wrong witht he LED or the led you purchased arnt the super bright SMT ones. my interior lights blind me and my passengers when they open the door lol
This probably isn't the case.. but maybe they are angled wrong? depends on the style of bulb you are talking about, but usually map lights can be pivoted (if they are festoon style) to achieve the optimal brightness
I just tried adjusting them and it didn't make a difference. I mean the stock lights are 10x brighter than these. I would think they are defective, but there I have a festoon and another type of bulb on the interior and they are all the same dullness. My exterior one's are really bright, but the interior is not. I'm not sure why.
Not all LED bulbs are bright.
There's a line of hierarchy of actual brightness based on LED bulb type.
I think it goes:
Regular LED bulb
Flux LED
SMDs
1W SMDs
etc.
The brightess LED bulb available for interior that I know of is the 1W.
They're available on BA9Ss, 194s/168s, etc.
Unfortunately, I don't think they're available for festoon style bulbs.
For festoons, aim for maximum quantity of bulbs.
