Default LED Foglights

Has anyone installed LED foglights? I have read in other places that they do not project a light for the driver's benefit and that their only visibility is for the on-coming traffic. I do not understand this concept since the reflector within the housing is what really projects the light. So as long as the reflector is receiving the light what difference does it make from the type of source.

Any info will be helpful.

Thanks

i swap my high beams for the Vled LED and yes although the housing does have a refloctor the LED doesnt have the output to project far. Although they will be very bright for oncoming vehicles.

I rewired my headlamps so i can turn low beam, high beam and fog lights all at ones.
and since i upgraded my HID to 6k...no need for high beam really.

Yup it's only for looks I have leds in my wifes ES and you can't even see it on the road. I like it though because it matches her HIDs very well. But I think I'll be swapping them out for HIDs.

I have LEDs in my 2nd gen. GS fog lights. To be quite honest, I knew light output wouldn't increase. Actually, as I suspected, it significantly reduced the light output that would have been normally generated by halogen bulbs. I put LEDs in my fog lights simply so that it would match my wedge and 6000K HID bulbs better. If you were to do this also, it would be purely for aesthetics. Sorry, I don't have a technical answer for you.
