Default Converting cornering lights to Daytime running lights problem...help

So I decided to convert my cornering lights to daytime running lights. I opted to connect them to the parking light harness. It worked fine and looked great but after short drive i started noticing the smell of burning plastic which i traced to the small fusebox by the pedals. All the fuses in the box turned out fine. Just above the box, this fuse or relay or whatever it is had melted. (Circled in red)

Trying figure out what it is, it's purpose and if i replace it, how can i prevent it from being overloaded and burning out again. Any help would be appreciated.

I followed the simple directions from Intellexiual.net. They/I used a relay and mounted it close to the battery. I also used a 30 amp green fuse type fuse holder, from the hot 12volt side to the relay. Just as a precaution. Its been on here for almost a year now and no problems. maybe something to look at. I cant see the pictures, due to the government computer. I also changed the factory running light bulb to a 55 watt type bulb, and they are bright!

two options...

1) change to LED bulbs that don't draw as much current

2) do what 1992lexus did above and wire in a relay to handle the additional current...

The circuit is drawing too much current than it is suppose to, so indeed it melted.
