Default Need help: Replacing a lowbeam headlight bulb on a '96 ES300

Hello,

Apologies for starting on a thread on my first post, but I've searched the forums dry and could not find exactly what I needed to know so I decided to start a thread.

Looking for some help on replacing the low headlight bulb on the 1996 ES300. Pictures would be fantastic, but any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Our ES is a 94 model, but I would assume yours would have the same assembly.

Bulb replacement is very easy. Rotate the bulb holder about 10-15 degrees, and pull it out of the headlight assembly. Put the new bulb in the holder, reinsert in the headlight assembly, and rotate back into position.

I don't remember if the rotation is clockwise or counter-clockwise, but the bub holders will only move in one direction.

Thanks for the advice!

I saw 3 screws on the holder in a triangle position... do I need to unscrew these at all? when I held the holder after removing the wire, it didn't seem to budge too much.

Three screws? Are you talking about the screws that hold the headlight assembly in place?

You do not need to remove the headlight assembly. You reach behind it to remove the bulbs. The driver side low beam bulb holder is about an inch from the right side of the battery. Get a grip on this holder and move the outside part upward. The bulb holder will release, and you can pull it out.

The passenger side releases by turning the bulbholder downward.

Leave the wiring harness in place on the bulb holder. It helps you get leverage on the holder.

goto the store, find 9006 or 9005 bulbs you will see how easy it is to install.
