Default Aftermarket HID issues - advice needed

Hi all,

I want to pick your brain on something. I bought a 9006 HID kit from
Mobile HID and I am having some problems with it.

I am hoping you can help me diagnosis the problem. I drive a 1998 Lexus
gs400 and fit the kit about a year ago.

Problem - HID lowbeams don't alway light. The parking lights and the
rest of the car electricals work when the HIDs don't.

Symptoms
1) HIDs don't light when the car starts and I turn the headlights on.
I will restart the car and sometimes the HID will relight (couple
second delay say 5-10 and sometimes longer like a couple of minutes) and sometimes they don't. The 'warmup period' for the HID can be as short as 5 seconds and as long as 10 minutes.
2) Car hits a bump and the lights turn off randomly (has happened twice)

I've check the connection points and cables on the kit. Any idea what
might be going wrong / bad with the kit? How do I fix it?

Thanks

Have you checked the ground? Make sure it's on bare solid metal and making good contact. This is assuming you are using the harness and relay included with the kit. Both lights don't work whenever this happens or is it sometimes only one?

Will check the ground. I am using the relay and harness. Both lights don't work; it is never just one light

Maybe the ballast is bad? If it isnt firing correctly at start up i would think the relay is bad or not connected properly but I say contact mobileHID, they offer i believe a 2 year warranty on all their products

If both of them aren't working, it's gotta be something either in the power delivery (battery or ground connection, relay, something) or in the signal from your factory plug that tells them to turn on.

Talk to Cliff, he's real good with helping out his customers.
