Default Bulbs gets really hot?

Ok my hid kits came in. I got mine from xenondepot - its the phillips kit.

One issue is the metal socket gets really hot when I fire them up, it is the metal area where my finger is holding, it's too hot to hold without wearing a glove and it got hot enough to melt some plastic when I put it down on top of.

What could be the issue here?

HID and Halogen bulbs run at approx 750 degrees at the filament/core of the bulb.

That's interesting... the bulb housing is made out of metal but I am worried it might melt the sockets of the light housing which is made out of plastic.
