Are you drawing power through your stock harnesses? Try drawing power directly from your battery. I would also suggest 4300k bulbs. You lose quite a bit of lm's with 6000k's
thats funny... i took the HID's out of my 99'TL to test in my SC300 and the output was horrendous... worse than my halogens, lol. I know nothing about HID's but i thought i'd give it a try since i already had them. I couldnt see cr@p at night.
well i was on hidplanet and looking around.. and asked a few questions seems like yea these x5 projectors just plain out suck.. so i guess ill be spendin more money to get tsx projectors. ill post it up when i get the tsx done. the money pit grows.. i love my car too much i think...

sucks to hear you gotta get new projectors..... hopefully you can sell those back to someone..... well... what can i say... shoudla done your homework before hand... good luck with the whole situation...
Do they housings being silver instead of chrome make any difference? From the pics, it seems like the concentration of light is shot straight ahead and not enough is hitting the ground.
took the X5 Projectors out today.. My new TSX projectors came.. ill be doing the retrofit this week. Ill post pictures of the X5 vs my new tsx soon.. so far it looks alot better from the test fits.
Hopefully it turns out good. But i think you should have checked your electrical and see if your lens were too thick. They could have been a problem and an easy fix without having to blow more money on it. Just my .02 Can't wait til you post up your new setup!
Lights were great!! I have had 5 different BMW's since 2000, and currently have a 97 540i and a '03 540iT Halogen and Xenon respectively, and they both shine bright way down the road on lowbeam and even farther and brighter in High Beam. BMW always puts great lights in their vehicles so they can drive on the Autobahn at 150+ mph during the day and night.
I havent read all the posts, but the ones I read and the picture I saw looks like you have your lights aimed too high. They will never be bright on the road if they are too high. My '05 Acura RL has great HID's too, I havent tried the lights out on my new '08 IS350 yet at night, hopefully will have time soon to try them. Good luck with your search. Dan F
