Anybody know what kind of resistor I need to use for LED running/stop lamps?

I bought the $8.99 ones (they say 25 watt 10 ohm on them) from V-LEDs, but when I install them, the LEDs do not light up at all. The LEDs work without the resistors, but I get a taillamp failure. I bought 15 ohm resistors today and they also do not work.

I have a 2001 LS430 and 18 SMT LED 7443 bulbs.

Thanks in advance for any help I can get! I'm stumped right now...

 

Your car is probably sensing lower wattage and throws a tail lamp failure sensor on your dash console.

Rather than playing with resistors...I'd just find the tail lamp failure module and disconnect the wire. I did this years ago for my 2001 GS300.

I did some digging but only found this...





I also found some unconnected plugs. My car is stock, so I suppose that's how they are supposed to be.

 

you wouldn't happen to know the pin out on the module harness that is for the inner tails would you? or can you leave the whole thing unplugged with no problems if you always check that your tails are working

 

Should be the same pin I believe....only way to find out is to try it and report back.
