Part of the footage for that video, I've seen before... it's that guy with the illuminated licence plate.

I put these on my GS a couple of months ago. They are nice for the price. I had a hard time getting the desired look because of the angle of the back face on my side skirt. ( I wasn't into drilling ). All in all they look pretty good, I did tie them into the lights in my footwells so they fade in and out with the rest of the lights.

That would be the ideal setup .. have them come on as you unlock the car.

I've had them on my car for over a year. They're linked to the dome light so they fade in/out when you unlock the car or open the door. When I was mounting them, I looked at the tape, had a good laugh, and just removed them. I can't find the pics right now but I'll post them when I can. Girls love them.

Here are some pics as promised. These were taken over a year ago but you get the point.

Damn those are nice. Did you angle them out or is that how it's mounted. I thought the lights were directly under the car, not in front of the doors.

its a puddle light; so passengers can see whats on the ground before they step into a huge puddle. would be kinda pointless if they were under the car

well.. technically VIP lights are for show lol but hey, if they double as puddle lamps, that's a plus too!

these lights were strictly for show when they came out, and i think "puddle" light was coined for lack of any other term. pod lights or step lights are other words i've seen thrown around, but none really are exactly descriptive either

They are slightly angled. The second picture shows them not lined up completely because it was taken the night after I installed them but they're lined up correctly now.

They've come in handy on more than 1 occasion. I was parked on the dirt shoulder which was muddy and almost stepped on it. Girls have almost tripped on curbs because they're just that stupid but the puddle lights have saved them. And quite frankly, they just look damn good when they fade out or when they're on for that matter.

You got that right!

Yeah... I'll get them whenever I have the time to figure out what to do with the underbody cause I remember looking before (I've wanted to add those lights before) and I remember there wasn't any good mounting (If I mount it right at the lowest point, there's a very good chance I can break them when I go over speed bumps with the car full. The Prius has really low ground clearance).
