All- i'm having the same issue here, 06 GS300, noticed lately they have been flickering off and on and even one time, both went out while i was driving down the highway. So everyone thinks it's just the bulbs going bad? i thought HIDs were suppose to last a very long time. I'm debating if i should take it to the dealers if they are going to charge me an arm and a leg just to change the bulbs, i rather do it myself and upgrade. any suggestions will help.

I have the same issue, except my HID fogs on my SC (It has 98'+ style fogs) the passenger side flickers a bit then is completely off, the driver's side is on and at the normal color. I am looking to get a new ballast but I want to make sure it's the ballast, not the bulb. When the bulb flickers, it isn't a weird color. Any help?

Ballast for ES330?
My left headlight started flickering a few weeks ago and recently went completely out. My mechanic said that he could replace the bulb for me, so I took my car down there. After checking it out, he said it was the ballast and not the bulb that was out. He called the dealer for the part and was told they only sell the entire assembly and that it would cost $500!
Is there a way I can buy just the ballast and have my mechanic install it in the original assembly? If so, where can I find it and about how much would it cost? Anybody have a similar problem that you were able to solve for less than $500-$600?
Thank you in advance

I would like to follow on to this discussion by asking about the behavior on my 2001 GS 300. Last year, my right side bulb would turn on initially, then turn a sunset color (pinkish orange), then go out. Earlier this year, one of the replacements started doing the same thing, I replaced it with the good original that I had kept and it is working fine. Now the other replacement is doing the same thing. Perhaps I bought cheap replacements? However, the real question is, when the bulb fails, is this the normal behavior, it flames out?
