hey guys an new here to the forums i own a 2001 lexus is300 i have a problem my right side hid burnt completly inside idk how that happend i bought the car about 2 months ago and right side stopped working so i removed the right side kit .and found this ..
evrything inside melted and fried .. ok my question is i replaced that old one with a new one from the dealer with a new bulb as well . my right side is still not turning on . i want to know if anyone can tell me what else should i change to make it turn on .. fuse was already checked and good .. could it be possibly the hid relay went bad ? and if so how much would that cost at the dealer ? thanks in advance ..
so you fired the ballast up outside the car?? with your replacement ignitor/bulb?
yes i tested the ballast outside the car with my replacements and it works great . but when i plug it onto my headlight and does not turn on . i keep hearing a click noise coming from what i believe the relay ? or is that click normal?
sounds like your ballast isnt firing up or getting power. so the problem would be before your ballast since everything from then on worked fine when you tested it. I would check your relays/harness.
If you ignitor plug and bulb where melted, there could be a chance your harness/relay has some damage to it as well.
