Default HID 6k light output problem

I had my HID for about 8 months now. Both came out blueish white at the beginning. When I turn it on now, I see both turning blue in the mirror, but then the passenger side starts to turn halogen white color as the driver side turns blueish white. What's up with my HID? I see the light on the passenger side flickering and stuff.

Can someone help me? Do I need a new kit?

Johnny

sounds like a ballast issue.

probably a cheap ballast and bulb, shoulda gone with a big name like Phillips (xenondepot) or Mtec

Hmmm. I got it off ebay after another fellow clublexus member got it and was happy with it for 300. I know I should have put some extra cash and get it from xenondepot. Do you think it could be a connection problem or something loose? I was gonna swap the driver side to the passenger side to see what would happen to the output this weekend.

I swapped the blueish bulb to the passenger side and it turned out to be the bulbs. I guess whoever sold it to me sold me a used bulb. I only had the kit for 6 months.

Does anyone know if I can buy some phillips 6k bulbs from xenondepot.com and change it with my kit? How would I connect it to my kit which is a different ballast?

Johnny

Depending on what ballasts you have, you may be able to replace them with xenondepot bulbs, check here to see if the connections look at all similar:

http://www.xenondepot.com/category.php?category_id=6

more than likely they'll be under the XenonDepot Components, or the Xtreme HID Components. Depends on your connection between the bulb and the ballast.
