Default would you trust ebay for hid bulbs?

Hey guys, would you all trust bulbs being sold on ebay. They seem to be at good prices and sometimes thats not a good thing. Which temp color should I also choose? I've heard that the autoleveling ones focus the beam so it seems a little bluer than retrofits. I want something thats a really bright white and not too blue as that starts to seem a little fake. What would be a good combination of really bright white and high light output. Thanks guys. This is a great forum by the way.

The bulbs in the autoleveling headlights and the regular ones are the same bulbs.

I bought my bulbs on ebay and they're exactly the same one (philips) as OEM. I bought the 4300k color temp.

If you want authentic bulbs, only Osram and Philips are the way to go, but Philips is often more preferred as Osram seems to color-shift sooner than Philips. They make 4100k and 4300k, both in which are OEM colors for practically all car brands that equip HIDs on their cars..

I bought an aftermarket McCulloch kit on ebay about 9-10 months ago. It was at a good price. I only had one problem with them since I've had them on, one time I turned on the headlights and one of the bulbs didn't come on, I turned the lights off then back on and never had that problem again. I believe Philips is the most popular choice for bulbs though. Just look into the buyer before you purchase anything and ask questions. You can go with the stock color which I believe is 4100k-4300k. You could also go with a 5000k which has a very small hue of blue not very noticeable. I have 6000k which is a good combo of blue and brightness but it's not a deep blue like say 8000k. Good luck hope this helps.

Sorry I didnt mean that the bulbs were different or anything .. I just heard that the housings that are made to specifically take in HIDs focus light better than retrofits and Ive heard that that makes them seem a little whiter. I could be completely wrong though but thank you. The ones that I currently have .. I am unsure of but I like the color they originally output during liek the first 10 seconds of them being turned on but they seem to get a little yellower once the bulb gets warmed up.

I was in the same situation as you.. I liked how they looked when the bulbs first came on but they would fade when the warmed up.. So i tried the bulbs on ebay and i was actually impressed with the light rendition. I got the 6000k bulbs. Initially I had the 4300k stock and tried the 8000k which were way too blue for me and found a good comprimise with the 6000k..nice white light with a purple tinge.

Phillips and Osram (essentially one in the same) make 2 bulbs, 4300/4100K for the OEMs and 6000K Ultinons.

If you have oem hid's and are looking for a nicer color you should def go with the 6000k like KANEDL25 said. I'm from ultrabrightlights.com but our single bulbs are prob a little more than you would want to spend. Unfortunately they dont come to cheap to us but cant go wrong with 6000k philips bulbs. As long as they are new and come from a seller that sells them on a regular basis you should be ok..also double check their warranty policies before you buy.
