Default Sc Hid Question

I am in the process of doing an HID conversion on my sc. I am using e46 m3 hids. I used the brackets that I got from Lex4Jess which worked extremely well. I delined my headlights and have got everything back together. I resealed the headlights got the bulbs in and ran into one problem that after seaching, noone ever seems to discuss. On the backside of the housing itself there is a rubber grommet that locks into place and seals around the very back of the factory projector housing. Now that the factory projector housing is gone and the M3 housing is in, that grommet has nothing to seal to. I have the ballast and connector attached and i put the factory grommet back in place but again there is nothing for it to seal to. How are yall getting yours to seal in the back, or do you leave it open?
