i saw a thread a while back where some one purchased brighter trunk lights. they looked the same but when lit up, they were brighter. i heard it was an option in japan. does anyone know the link or have info?

 

i don't know, but i put superwhite in the trunk. quite a bit brighter

 

rominl - superwhite? is that just some bulb you can find at pepboys? what's the bulb # for the trunk light anyways? i'd be interested in finding out more about this as well.. i was thinkin' of maybe puttin in a strobe light back there to accent my system

 

yous talkin bout the license plate lights? or the inner trunk lights?

Soooo... what about the light inside the trunk? Is there a brighter one? The stocker is a disapointment.

 

thats a 198/164 wedge bulb in the trunk.tons of options...i say try LED...

I put in Polarg M4's inside the trunk and in the license plate frame illuminators and it looks awesome.

 

On our LS430 i replaced the trunk bulb which was a 194 wedge base with a brighter 3652 wedge base bulb. The bulb i used is the same as a 194 in basic design it juse uses a different type of fillament. Jeep designed the bulbs for the side marker/turn signal bulbs because the 194s were too dim and they still needed a brighter bulb for their small lens. It does draw more watts but i doubt it would affect the wiring bc its not a significant difference. My LS is doing fine.
