has anyone here installed a kit into their factory fogs?
do your hid's develop some kind of heat inside of them?

i got a 1992 sc300 and planning to put the hid's on my factory fogs but
i was skeptical that it will melt something inside the fogs .
i will be retrofitting h11 d2s bulbs in there to have that "yellow" effect.

 

Don't think you should have too many problems Pat. I know Lexant did the 3000k Xenon fogs, but he is on the upgraded 97 foglights. I doub't you'll have any problems with heat since factory is 55watts and Xenons usually run on 35watts.

Did you upgrade your turning signals?

Try searching for heat problems with xenons in the foglights.

well, i am running the 35watts, not the 55wts. i did hook it up in my fogs but only for a certain minutes and it wz developing heat for less than 5 mins. i turned it off cuz i didnt want to burn anything in there. maybe i should let it sit inside the fogs for longer time to really find out.

turning signals: i have not done anything to it.

The problem with HID fogs in the SC fogs is moisture control.
