OEM Ballast a MUST???

Does it have to be the OEM Ballast for it to work good? Are all Ballast the same..say Denso on one side and Phillips on the other side??

Bad idea?

All oem ballast are the same, unless you go with d1s/ d4s but any d2s/d2r ballast will work, it doesnt have to be denso although denso does have outstanding quality and reliability.

i have denso on one side and phillips on the other. no problems
