Default How do you remove PRNDL bezel in GS?

I want to replace the dingy light for the shifter - how do you remove the PRNDL bezel, does it just snap up and off? Any trick to it? Don't want to break it.
Thanks.

You have to remove the whole center console. And then there's a couple of screws holding down the PRNDL casing at the bottom. Remove those and lift up after you remove your shiftknob.

it's not hard to take off the center console area (not the radio up). you don't even need a screw driver to do that

mark, put the stick in neutral and turn off the car. open up the ash tray and take out the tray. then use the radio as leverage, pull the ash tray (do NOT pul lthe cover, pull the body) at 45 degrees upward, the whole thing will pope up. disconnect the connector at the back and it's out.

then the center console whol thing just pop up very easily

if we meet up this sat, i can just do it for you

heehee you might as well install my HID replacement bulb also.... I had it for a while and never install it. I need to fix my bezel because i think dealer mess it up when they replace one of the bulb last time. I will try to do it, if not you will hear from me for sure! thanks!

One day, while stuck in hiway accident traffic, I decided to clean around my shifter.

I used a pocket screwdriver to pry up the center console just in front of the arm rest.

(For you see, I didn't have the manual with me, so I wasn't sure how it was done...)

The whole thing came out with the ash try still attached. I unplugged the wiring harnesses (for console switches and ash tray), disassembled the bezel, and cleaned all the parts.

Do you guys know what bulb is in the shifter? I searched around locally, and they only have the stock bulb color which is yellowy in output. I ended up only removing the green "condom" and leaving the bulb yellowy. Funny the unwrapped bulb leaves a reddish glow to the PRNDL shifter after you put them back...

I really would like them to be very white. Maybe need some LED for that....Can anyone help me source the LED for it???

Thanks a lot, bro. That's exactly what I was looking for. So as an extra added info, the bulb used in the shifter area is identical to your footwell bulbs and I believe your passenger compartment light.

I am so going LED superwhite on this console.
