Hey all,

New to the forum/website so please don't rip me if this has been covered
already, but I didn't see it....

I've had my 2000 rx300 for about a year now and I've noticed this from
day one: the map-light flickers. This is extremely noticeable at night, almost
to the point where I don't even want to use it. Its not like when a bulb
is at the end of its life and it starts to flicker and go out, this is more of
just a constant flicker with slight variations in the light intensity.

I've had the dealer look at this twice. The first time they suspected it
was the bulb and replaced it, didn't help. Now (the car is in the shop
for 15k checkup) they are telling me that they haven't a clue why its
like this, but that they ran around and checked other rx300's (including
new ones) and that they ALL do this...I'm a bit skeptical, to say the least.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, was/is there a solution?

The same is happening to my 92 SC400! DOH!!! Anyone have any ideas??

 

A worn battery is known to cause flickering. What is the age on yours? (the date is letter month and last digit year stamped atop the battery)
