Question

Hey all! Anyone ever change a set of foglight bulbs on an es300? I have a 96. I am sure I could figure it out, but I don't have a lift, so it is a pain in the **** to see what I am doing. I am guessing that it twists out the back much like that of the headlights. When I do this however, it just leads to more wires and I can't see inside to where the actual bulb is to pull it out. Any help would be appreciated!

The easiest way to change the H3 style lamps is totally remove the assembly itself:

1. you will have to get on the ground and find the three screws that hold it in place. they are all 10mm hex bolts

2. once you have figured that out, disconnect the middle connector. this is the connector that disconnects the light assembly from the cars wiring harness.

3. on the back of the light assem itself, rotate the black cap to reveal the lamp inside.

4. there is a metal paper clip looking thing that you need to pop off. ( not hard)

5. finally, pull the single wire that comes from the lamp out of the connector in the black cap. (you may have to use a little force.)

6. that's it, basiclly reverse the order to reinstall. Also, never touch the new bulb with your hands. it will leave oilly finger prints on the glass, which can boil and cause the bulb to explode. Use rubbing alchol to clean the bulb if you do touch it by accident.

good luck

if you don't want to take the bulb out, just skip steps 1 & 2
