HID questions
now for the actual headlight housing, if i put the bmw e39 projectors in there would it look ok..considering the headlight housing was not meant to have HID bulbs in there......i know you have to do stuff to make everything fit but i am talking about the looks of it? i am looking at illusion lighting and wanting to get everything from there....i think its like 400 bucks and then you have to install all the stuff yourself....has anyone done this and how difficult is it? also on their website they talk about a cosmetic trim piece , does anyone know what they are talking about and what it is for?
basically im still deciding on whether to do the 4300 or 6000K.......so if someone can tell me if the 4300K would look identical to the neew bmw lights so long as i went with the e39 projectors that is what i will get.....but if not i will go with the 6000 because i do want a slight blue tint to them but not to overwhelming.....
so if anyone has pics of their setups on the road and of the actual headlights i would appreciate it.....or if you can help me out with any of these other questions....i went to intellexual and gathered as much info as i oculd from there
thanks
ryan
With as many questions as you have I would definitely take it to the lighting forum for correct answers. I personally prefer the 4300k just as an FYI.
my lights look more like the mercedez with a little purple/blue output on them..........even during the day...which i didnt even believe at first but it was confirmed with few cl members here..
not sure if that's what ur looking for . i waz using the 4100k standard (85122) and it's more of a white instead of blue. by the way, im using the e46 projector instead.
hope that helps..
Do a search and you'll be able to find a lot of info. I remember seeing a tutorial a little while back of someone's conversion. If you buy the stuff from Illusion Lighting then ask them for assistance. Another site to check is hidplanet.com. There's tons of HID related info there.
I decided to go with HID retrofit kits for my cars instead of doing conversions. It's not as good as a conversion, but it is definitely one of the best mods I've done. It's a lot easier to do as well. It took me a half hour to do each car.
Good luck on your project.
